AIRIcerca New York Chapter is part of AIRIcerca, the International Association of Italian Researchers — a non-profit organization founded in 2013 to foster networking among researchers and promote dialogue between the scientific community and society. The New York Chapter supports Italian researchers in the area at all career stages and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and community building through cultural events, scientific seminars, and professional development initiatives. Since our founding in August 2021, we’ve grown into a vibrant community of several hundred members, offering a supportive environment for navigating both academic and everyday life in the city. We know how thrilling (and overwhelming) it can be to start fresh in New York, which is why we’re here not just with resources and events, but with a welcoming network of peers who’ve been through it too. The main findings of the 2023 survey on the international mobility of Italian researchers in the United States are now available in a series of summary infographics! Promoted by AIRIcerca New York Chapter and Com.It.Es. New York — with the support of the Italian Embassy in the U.S., the diplomatic-consular network, other U.S. Com.It.Es. chapters, and ISSNAF — the survey explored research experiences abroad, perspectives on returning to Italy, and the factors that might encourage such a move.
